Summer fun has started at Heritage Park

Funk Fest is Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the Charter Amphitheatre at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, SC. Tickets are still available to see MAZE FEATURING FRANKIE BEVERLY, BOBBY BROWN, RALPH TRESVANT, JOHNNY GILL, JOE and DOUG E FRESH! Gates open at 4pm- concert starts at 6pm!

Freedom Weekend Aloft - 2011

Freedom Weekend Aloft (FWA) 2011 is almost in the history books as I write this. I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday working at this years event. This was a much better event then last year which was known more as Freedom Weekend Afloat because of all the rain and storms. This year the weather was clear, albeit, very hot. The big thing, in my opinion was the spectacular balloon launches that happened each day. The concerts went off without to much of a problem and there was plenty of food choices this year. I think the event went very well and will hopefully return next year in Simpsonville, SC.

The Swamp Rabbit Trail

Here is a great video of the Swamp Rabbit Trail here in the Upstate.  It was done by the Great Escape Cycling Store here in Greenville, SC.  If your looking for a fun day out in the nice weather this is worth a trip.

Be Prepared For Stormy Weather

Image via WikipediaLooks like there is a high probability of a stormy day before it is all over.  The weather is saying this is a high risk day for severe storms, tornados and high wind damage throughout the mid west all the way over to the Carolinas.  The rain we can always use but damaging storms are never wanted or needed.  There have been areas that have already been hard hit with tornados and floods so early in the storm season.  It makes you realize that you MUST always be prepared for the owrst with mother nature to save lives.  This is a serious threat so please be watchful and take the appropriate measures to protect yourself, family and friends.
